Bronco Starting Problems

Hi,

So I was driving to work today, and I noticed my aftermarket radio was flickering in and out along with my sound system.

I got to work and as I was leaving for lunch my car wouldn't start. The headlights and the rest of the electrical turn on (the radio still flickering). The car just makes a groggling sound like its out of battery.

Does this mean I just need a new battery or a charged up battery?

Perhaps a new alternator, solenoid or starter?

How can I tell?

Thanks!

Check the voltage at the battery, it should be well over 12V. Do a battery load test is your best option, if that passes its not the battery. Are the battery terminals clean and tight?

If you turn the ignition on and you have lights, power, etc. I'd say you have some battery cable issues. Although a bad battery can still give you lights and not start the vehicle, many times I've seen battery cables that were damaged, corroded, or not tightened down cause many similar issues.

Could even be a bad starter, who knows, hard to say without having the vehicle in front of us to test things.
