I have a 1989 bronco ii. The front seat belts seem to be functioning pooly. When the car is running, the seatbelts will loose tension and I hear a clicking noise. The only way to retention is to pull out on the seatbelt and it will tighten back up again. Otherwise it has a lot of slack in it. Any thoughts?

I have the same issue with my '88. When I'm driving it will loosen up. I can pull it and it will then click and retract up again, but not firm and I am always concerned if during an impact, it would not function as designed to hold my torso back.

The only way to test that the pre-tensioners are working as designed is to actually create an impact, which of course we don't want to do. I've done some searching and the only recommendation I can find is to completely replace the pre-tensioners at a cost of several hundred dollars plus labor (if you can find the parts).

I hope you come across another suggestion. Let is know if you find one. Thanks!
