Yeah im just gonna dish out for new ones, vise grips work for me now, that damn thing is heavy though.

Mine work fine ......... in the summer. But loose all pressure during the winter.

After having the hatch crash down on my head it was time to fix the problem.

Yeah for a fiberglass skin you wouldnt think that thing is so damn heavy, it hurts just to hold it up with my head.

If you can get me an open/collapsed length, I can get you a part number/price for some heavier ones (30/60/120/150/300lb?) to hold up even in the colder weather.

Hey guys...had the hatch and the glass ones go on my '85 B II this winter. Found replacements on ebay for about 25-30 dollars. There was a vendor there that had both the glass and the hatch listed in the auction for around 55 dollars for all four pieces. Very easy to replace, took longer to get a screwdriver out of the tool box and get the new struts out of the package than it did to put them on. My hatch wasn't falling but my glass was...and that sucked getting hit in the head with that too.

I got mine at Rockauto pretty dirt cheap... like 8-9 bucks a piece I think?
