Help...matching numbers

I’m a newbie and support b2. Not yet an owner but looking.... What should I know about “matching numbers” (e.g. engine, etc.)? Thnx in Advance!

Personally I don't think it matters much. These aren't a super high priced collectable car like some of the 60's muscle cars. If you find a pristine example [like 9 or10 out of 10] with everything original then it might make a bit of difference.

I agree I don't really think it matters, what matters more is does it have the right engine and transmission in it. Has someone with a sawzall been hacking away at it? What's the service history...those I think would be more important than matching numbers of anything.
