I lost overdrive a couple months ago and my running lights went out too, turned out to be a melted switch under the dash. Replaced that and everything was fine, until today when I was driving and would turn on the left turn signal my overdrive would automatically disengage. The light for my rear lamp lights up when i'm running and the brake light does the same as I engage the brakes. Obviously its another electrical problem, just wondering where to start.

Thanks

Check the brake light switch unit. That bit of fun will also shut down the overdrive if the computer thinks the brakes are being applied. Not to mention you'll be having issues with your rear lights.

Sounds like wiring is likely..but the switch is a cheap and easy test.

and the brakes switch wires are also part of the turn signal switch. You would be surprised how much runs through the turn signal switch.

It turned out to be an 1157 bulb in the back right, I think it was reading it as if I was activating the brakes which would kick off overdrive. Thanks for the help everyone!
