Have you looked at any brushless conversions yet?

A coworker of mine juiced up his sons 12v power wheels so it took an 18v drill battery. We had a drill blow up at work one day, so he just hacked off the bottom of the grip where the battery fits into and soldered it into the leads off the speed control.

What they actually liked more than the 50% bump in power was that the drill batteries only take a half hour to charge... Instead of 4 or whatever. Keep the kiddo busy & happy all day long.
