My 1984 bronco 2 has a oil line that came from a split where the oil pressure sensor is and then went up into the valve cover in a separate hole from the oil fill port. I haven't been able to find anything about it, anyone know what it could be?

Sounds like someone was trying to squirt/spray pressurized oil onto the rocker shafts. If that's what it is... it would not be factory installed.

The 2.9L is known for poor top end oiling.

What about the 2.8L?

My bad... guess I assumed 2.9L.

I have minimal experience with the 2.8L.

But I'm pretty certain they never had an oil line running to the valve cover.
