Original vs Modified

Just looking for input on what direction I should take on my newly acquired Bronco II Sherrod. It was used on a deer lease and forgotten about of a while but relatively in good condition. I have looked around regarding the Sherrod conversion and they seem to be a bit of a unicorn so I am on the fence if I should try to keep it as close to original or should I alter it? It is rust free with original paint and interior but has been topless for sometime so the interior is weathered. My intentions are to make it more of a driver then it is currently, I can see redoing the interior with durabak flooring and corbeau seating. Currently it has a 3 inch body lift but I can see swapping that out for a suspension lift also.

Interesting.....from some research they had a soft back like a CJ Jeep.

I bought it without the top, figure I will need to find an upholstery shop to remake. Just curious if this it is worth keeping original or just modify it for a weekend warrior rig.
