play in the steering

can anyone help me? i have alot of play in my steering and want to fix it my self and save a lil $$.:beer:

get under it and start shaking shit till you find the source of the play

C rael under and have someone turn thne steering wheel slightly, just an inch or two and watch all the joints. I'm sure you will find play in many places. Play would be where one part is moving, but the part it is attached to doesn't move the same.

if not any steeling parts than theres a bolt on the gear box that you can tighten up a little bit and it might get rid of some of it

Well yeah . . . . sorta, but do you understand how critical it is in the adjustment procedure and really what is happening inside when you move the "bolt" ? Its for those that have at least read how and why or you can really mess up the box.
