Pop Sound

I have a popping sound that will occur only once when I hit the brakes going in reverse and then hit the brakes then when I go in Drive and then press brakes it pops once. Doesnt pop at any other time and only once when going in Drive or Reverse right after that when I press the brakes it pops that one time. If i continue in reverse or drive after the pop and hit the brakes there is no other popping sound.

Check you shoes, of they are worn, or something broke they can pop when the settle into the different direction.

UPDATE: I checked my U joints and one does have some play in it but its the front joint that feels loose. The sound of the pop "seems" to be coming from farther back but I think that this could be the cause. Any thoughts?
