I put in a dual core radiator, but now the lower hose is kinked a little. I’ve taken about 1.5” off, but the new angle of the radiator seems to be linking the hose no matter what. Is this a big deal? How should I handle this? These hoses seem to come pre-formed. Did I make a mistake on choosing a larger radiator? Thanks!

Yes, that is gonna be a problem. You will not get proper flow. I also have a double core in my rig. Spend some time looking at hoses from similar vehicle ( rangers and early 91-94 explorers.). You will find hoses that are shaped a bit different to correct the issue.

The hose looks wrong. My 88 has an extra bend on the radiator side.
Dealer put the radiator and hose on several years ago so I can't be 100% sure that it is an OEM shape replacement.
But you can get the parts house to pull a hose for an 88 and check it out.

I ended up just buying a flexible hose and sticking it on there. So far so good!
