After months of teardown and cleanup, I finally started putting the 2.9 from my 88 BII back together this weekend.

As I was pulling everything apart, I noticed a lot of silicone between the gaskets and mating surfaces, but the shop manuals don't mention using anything other than a new gasket with a few exceptions (i.e. in the corners of the head/lower intake manifold).

As I reassemble, where should I be adding a bead of silicon for extra insurance, and what product(s) are recommended?

Typically silicone would be used in all transition areas were it changes front say cork to rubber.

Intake manifold... oil pan come to mind.
