I did a search but could not find anything...

I know I should probably be content on what I have... but I'm not. I have the small plastic side mirrors and I really like the metal mirrors with the bracket. Most Bronco 2s and Rangers I see have these. Anyway, I want to do this swap, but I know that I would need to drill a hole in the door and some how reinforce that lower hole.

Just seeing if anyone has done this swap and what they did to make it work. Did you get a part off of a junkyard truck, or did you fab something?

The top holes are the same, you do have to drill two holes to mount the lower mirror bracket. There is a metal reinforcement bar that is inside the door that connects the upper and lower mirror mounts to the door.
Its held on by 3 little bolts, and then the mirror brackets bolt to it. Its a fairly easy swap to do, hardest part is removing the door panel from the donor vehicle to access and remove the inner bracket.
Everything bolts up and is a complete swap with the exception of drilling the two holes in each door.

You can get new bracket style mirrors at LMC Truck or if you are really lucky you may find some in the junkyard that are in ok condition.

Anyone have pics of said inner reinforcement bar? Maybe something that could be fabricated?
