so im looking at an 86 with a 2.9, the owner tried to get it going yesterday, and she went first click, and she has been sitting for close to a year, maybe longer, and as he was unhooking the booster cables, he moved his current truck back out of the way to drive the ranger, and as he got back to the ranger she shut off, and wouldnt go anymore. he said that he will turn the key ahead a couple times and she will just fire up on the bit of gas that she is getting from the pump cutting in at the beginning, but wont keep going.
when i bought my bronco 2, she was like this, and it was just the filter on the fuel rail leaking and squirting out the gas, but she went after about 20 mins. but this guys thinks its the fuel filter thats in the frame rail, and he already has one in the dash waiting to go in.
do you think its the filter on the chassis, or the fuel rail filter, or neither?
