Tire alternatives on a 15X10 rim. My 33X12.50's rub too much. 90 Bronco II w/6" lift

I have a 6" Skyjacker lift on my 90 Bronco II. I have a set of 33X12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ's on 15X10 Eagle 86 series wheels.

I am having a big issue with the tires rubbing on full lock even after cutting the fenders. I dont want to cut them much more, so I am thinking about going with a smaller tire. They rub on the outside of the tire. Is it because the rim is too wide??

I am looking at maybe going to a 32X11.50 BFG AT. Are there any 31's besides swampers that will fit a 10" wide rim?

Thanks!

I wouldnt recommend 10" wide wheels with 11.50" wide tires. Your better getting 15x8 wheels with a 3.75-4.00 inch backspacing to help bring the tires in a bit. The root of the problem is that the wheel sticks the tire out soo far that it will come in contact with the fender during articulation. I have 15x10s with 3.75 backspacing and they stick out far. 3-4 inches from the fender infact, but match the bushwacker fender flares perfect. Im also alittle higher than you too, soo I dont rub . It did rub before the 6" skyjacker when I only had a 3" body lift and 2" skyjacker coils...

true, but i already have a set of 15X10 rims. I guess I could try to sell them already mounted to the rim. I just like how it sticks out the sides with the wider rim. more stability as well.

i saw that on tirerack.com it says on the 32X11.50 tire the rim range is 8-10".

I ran 33x13.50 Swamper LTBs on 15x10s with no rubbing issues at all. I have a 4" suspension lift & a 3" body lift. I don't know if the fender design changed from 84 to 90, but I would assume it has to do with the backspacing on the wheel itself.

I would let you know my backspacing if I knew how to measure it! :icon_confused:

Yeah you can always get a 2 -3" body lift. Cheaper then changing tires around and it will give youi 2 -3" of non flexin clearance. So you would have 3 extra inches of fender room under full articulation. Alot of people say body lifts are bad but i haven't heard of any major problems.
