Well, I guess I better start a build thread too. I finally decided to get back to working on my 1984 b2.

The Plan
302 - got it today
install 2" bodylift
finish installing suspension lift
35" tires (wanting boggers)
d35 and 8.8 - in my parts explorer
More to come

When I first got the bronco ($400):

Picked up some explorer springs & leaves:

Threw on some 31x10.5x15 Mudstars on some 15x8 wheels:

Sat like this for about a year or 2. The 2.8 wouldn't get out of its own way. C5 seems to be shifting fine. Finally got it moved to my house. Has sat in the garage for a while untouched until the other day.

Recently started gutting the interior. I plan on herculinering it or some sort of bedcoating stuff.

Few pics of the stripping (not done yet):

As it sits now (yes the front tires are bigger than the rear, but they are just some temp rollers):

You can see in the pic above I've been repainting the interior. As of right now, it will be black and red. Garage makes a good paint booth too..haha.

I've gotta say that looks like a damn clean Bronco II. Especially for an 84!

Got the motor and trans out of the back of my truck finally. However it appears that I have been given the wrong trans. Can anyone identify this for me?

And my nasty motor:

Can anyone give me some info on where to find some casting number so i can identify this motor?

The block casting is behind the starter.

Built me a work bench this past weekend. Now I can get to working on some stuff. I think it's pretty good seeing as I'm not a carpenter.

Got my stereo mounted up top on a shelf. Speakers are up in the corners by the garage door.

On the left in the silver box, is my air compressor. It is in an insulated box to help cut out some the noise. I ran the air line up to the hose reel above the tool box.

Looks like a good build, I beleive thats an AOD from the looks of the pictures. Good, strong trans if the tv cable is adjusted correctly.

Got my 2" bodylift on. I have been carrying this thing with me for probably 5yrs now. Bought it for my 89 and never put it on it. Should make things easier to work on now.

what did the 302/tranny come out of? stock AOD's are ok in very mild applications. also the AOD got a bunch of internal upgrades in 87 so anything older is going to suck. a C4 or C6 might be the better way to go.

oh.. & i also put bedliner down in the floorboard too. it turned out well, i think i'm still going to put carpet or vinyl back in though. it makes for a great water barrier but not much for sound haha.
