ok my buddy told me tonight that he can weld it up whenever i need him too ( 220v gas lincoln welder) so ill probably haul it out tonight and drop it off with him. a question, i dont have to re shim anything or put the ring gear back to certain specs or anything do i? just take out the shaft c clips, slide out the shafts, unbolt the ring gear/carrier and pull it out, then when the carrier is welded, bolt it back together and be done with it right? what are the torque specs on the bearing caps for it? thanks

You need to use a housing spreader to remove the carrier (Correctly) and make sure to keep the shims in tact. Once you go to reinstall it, you have to check the pattern. As it was disturbed, don't assume that the pattern will be the same. You may have to reshim to get the proper mesh. Or you can jam it in and hope for the best.
