OK now I know what I'm doing when I swap in the v8, I really dig the "front halfed" frame man! Hell yeah and that will allow me to place the steering box where I want it as well as move the front diff further forward. Not to mention its an easier piece to work hoops and mount to. SICK DUDE!

Haha, thanks. It really allowed me to put everything exactly where I need it... while keeping the height looooooowwwwww. In my mind, it's the only way to go!

Any idea what your roof line height will be, or belly height?

Roof height as it sits is 73", belly height is 20" with a 104-105" wb. Huts that's on road pressure tires too...

Alrighty, well moving ahead in the build! Got my steering box tapped for hydro assist and mounted where I need it. Also got my interior cage mostly done except for cross bracing. I put in a couple orders for parts to get this thing rolling... I've got 14 Trail-Gear Creeper Joints coming for my rear four-link plus some extra trail spares... I put in an order from RuffStuff for the rest of my steering parts and such. Threaded weld-in bungs for the upper links, and some for the drag link and track bar, jam nuts, etc. Also have a hydroboost GM saginaw PS pump coming to get my steering ready to roll. Next up I think is cutting away the rear of the body to start working on the four link and mounting the fuel cell! :headbang:

I have 3" up travle at ride height, lol. Hoping to be improved by about 2", lol when I v8 this pig. I want to loose some body lift but I wont know how much till after the v8 swap. My plan is to lower the suspension a couple inches as well when the v8 swap goes down. I'd like to be down to 4" sus and 1.5-2" bl once the smoke clears. The front diff goes ahead a few more inches and the rear goes back a couple inches and it all goes down a few inches, lol. I'm thinking about tubbing the rear fenderwells some more too.

Ahh, yeah I hear ya! I wish I could keep this pig lower, but alas... I can't. 20" belly is about as low as I want to keep it, plus I have 6" uptravel and I've got about a 1/4-1/2" body lift... approximately, anyway. I got rid of the factory rubber body mounts and replaced them with cut down body lift pucks to solid mount the body. The rear is getting chopped up to the body line and straight back, removing the tail lights in order to move the rear end back 5-6" and accommodate 6-7" uptravel.

Sick build!!

I literally just sat and looked through all 43 pages of this thread straight. Awesome job and I can't wait to see it finished up. Definitely gave me some ideas for my ranger that's for sure.
