auto vs manual locking hubs

i have an 85 4x4 at i plan on taking the parts form to make a 89 4x2 a 4x4. should i get manual locking or keep the autos?

Manual locking hubs all the way if you plan on wheeling it.

Upgrading to manual hubs is one of the best things you can do. They're stronger, more reliable and give you the option of 2-wheel LO range. :beer:

Just curious...

Whats the point of 2 wheel low range??

Whats the point of 2 wheel low range??
Additional gear reduction for things like backing trailers and pulling a boat up a ramp. It's not necessary, but really handy to have with a quick pull of a lever or push of a button.

Not a question, manual. Stock or Warn. Not mile marker. Haven't heard anything good about them.

Mile Markers are not bad if it is a Dana 44 or larger, but the hub flange that is used in RBV is very weak from Mile Marker.

I stand corrected.
I don't have any experience with the larger axles.
