Ive got an 87 B2 with the NP205 Transfer case, D35/8.8....I want to put some lower gears in it, but im not exactly sure where to start...Since the axles were both donated from an exploder, do i need to get a ring and pinion set for an exploder also? Will i need to piece-meal a set with parts that fit in the np-205, and then get exploder parts that will fit in the axles...? any help would be appreciated from someone whos done this upgrade!

thanks in advance

As far as the 8.8, any ring and pinion should work until you hit 4.88, and then you need a notched cross pin.

if you've never done regearing before.... i'd suggest finding someone local that has, that is willing to help you learn. its not just bolt it up and go.

but yes, get gears for a 8.8 for the rear and d35 ttb REVERSE CUT gears for the front.
