I am new to the B2 world. First off, I would like to say, Awesome forum! Search function here yields a wealth of knowledge and the tech page is amazing. Thanks to all that keep this site alive and to those who contribute.
:icon_cheers:

I just bought this bronco, runs great, have tire rack for back, previous owner said it was lifted 4" but not positive whether it was body or suspension. I looked it over quickly but didn't pay much attention to the lift on it. Was more concerned with operability, etc. Anyhow, I left the B2 at his house until I could trailer it vs. driving it because of valve gasket leak causing it to smoke a bit. Sat for 4 months. Didn't want to start a fire so trailer is better option.

This is an 86 B2 4x4 5sp
body or suspension lift? I know the pics don't show the undercarriage, I will post thos on sunday but let me know if there is any indicators just by looking at these pics. Thanks

That's a body lift. Unless it's smoking tremendously, a typical valve cover gasket leak is perfectly safe to drive.

Looks like a suspension lift to me. The radius arm crossmember is really far from the frame, indicating drop brackets. And it doesn't look like there's a gap between the body and frame.

Get a pic of the underside of the truck and we'll be able to tell you.

Maybe you're right. Been a while since I owned a B2, but I didn't think you could see that much frame under the body through the rear wheel well.

Yeah, it doesn't look like a bodylift to me, it's most likely suspension.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I will get some more pictures tomorrow of the undercarriage and what not. I will probably try and drive it home even though it smokes a bit. Have a fire extinguisher handy just in case.

I'm with the crowd saying suspension when you toss some underside pics up we can all take a stab on how they went about lifting it.

Get some new valve cover gaskets, degrease the crap out of the exhaust manifolds and then take a good drive to burn off the rest of the oil that's coating your exhaust.

Nice buy! I like the color combo, it's different

Thanks, and I will take the advice and get the gaskets and degrease done as well.

update
It is a 4" Skyjacker suspension lift. Blocks in the back unfortunately. Will get the springs soon. If I were to buy springs from skyjacker for a 4" lift, would I need the factory blocks for the truck? I don't have them, so should I buy the 6" springs?

Will post pics soon.

There is no block on a BII. Get the 4" springs.

Yup, definitely a suspension lift (drop extensions on the radius arm crossmember)
