I have an 87 Bronco II with the fake wood grain dash, its gotta go. I was thinking about either brushed aluminum or dimond plate powder coated black to replace it. So with a new dash panal I figure its time for some new instrumentation. I am looking at the Auto Meter Cobalt Digital gauges and I like them, but I dont know if I like them in a truck. So any thoughts on digital gauges? love em, hate em? pros cons vs analog gauges?

ELECTRIC gauges suck. Digital or analog, they measure your electrical system as much as anything else.

Agreed.

If you are going to be using a oil pressure or water temp gauge definitely go with a mechanical gauge. Mechanical gauges are tons more accurate than electric gauges.

Ok since it sounds like nobody really likes digital gauges or electronic gauges for that matter, somebody wanna point me in the right direction for some mechanical gauges? I havent done too much searchin but so far everything Ive come across are electronic. Im lookin for a complete set, speedo, tach, volt, fuel, oil pressure, water temp.
Anyone know where I should start lookin?

thx

most auto parts stores carry a selection of mechanical and electrical guages. if they dont have a set in stock, they can order them and save you the cost of shipping.
