I already posted that I'm putting a new 2.9L in my B2. Figured I'd post some pics of the work in progress.

Referb short block. Came from Jasper Engines. About $1700 with install kit. But I have an account with them. Not sure of the public cost

That pic is a long block, correct? 1700.00 buys you a long block up here from NAPA.

That pic has the heads, oil pan and front cover from the old motor already installed. $1700 was the short block, all gaskets, new water pump, oil pump, all belts and hoses, new sensors, motor mounts, oil air and fuel filters, t stat, and rad cap. Maybe a couple of other things.

Plus Jasper does a 50,000 mile warranty if installed with their install kit by a certified mechanic. My buddy, who ordered the motor for me, is certified to do the install. His company uses Jasper for their fleet vehicles so him installing the motor don't void the warranty.

^ Not a bad deal at all in my book. I know it sounds crazy to some, but I'd spend 1700 for a 2.9 like that. I'd probably replace the heads though while I'm at it.

In other cases I probably would have. But I had these heads checked by a machine shop before bolting them on. Plus the previous owner of my B2 gave me the receipt from when they were purchased and installed on the old motor 4 months before I bought the truck.
