I have a '92 Sploder Sport 2 door. It has a hole in the side of the fuel tank about the size of a quarter. I tried patching it but it didn't hold. My only other option it seems is to replace the tank. Which is where my question lies. Are all tanks the same, 4-door or 2-door? I know my inlet tube is on the rear whereas it was in the middle on my same year Ranger. Just curious if all the Explorers were the same around that era?

Measure your overall tank length, and I'll compare it to mine.

I'm pretty sure they are different between 4doors and sports... I've got both, I can go out and measure em.

I don't have the truck easily accessible right now as it's parked at the farm to make room for another toy in the garage so I can't really measure it right now. The reason I ask about this is because when I search for a tank through car-part.com or through LKQ, they don't ask to specify 2-door or 4-door. So I just thought I'd ask around on here and see if anyone knows.
