normally you pull the bottom of the dust cover from the trans, and access the torque converter nuts from there. There will probably be 4 nuts. Turn the engine clockwise to get to the next one until they are all removed.

Or remove starter and access through starter hole.

Too much compression? Pull the spark plugs might help.

hey guys, a little update, my bud die and I were working on it to day during class ( i blew the motor and I'm rebuilding it in my automotive class) and he accidentally removes the drain plug, so we had to wait for it to drain and we ran out of time, i did however turn the motor over with a breaker bar on the nut on the front of the motor and he said the torque converter moved a little, i believe i turn it clockwise correct? and how hard should it be to turn?

lol should have just put the plug back in. it will be relatively tough with the plugs in on compression. and the engine being "blown" probably isn't helping either.

Leave the converter bolted to the flex plate and take the transmission out. It will make a huge mess so be careful.

Also DO NOT try to take the engine out without removing the trans first with this method. It makes for a good chance to break the fluid pump if you do.
