I'm planning to swap a D35 into my 87 B2 and want to know if the D4 axle code Explorer donor is L/S rear and front, or rear only?

Thanks, Y'all.

Rear only.

Ford doesn't usually put limited slip on the front axle.

You don't really want L/S up front unless you are going through deep mud. Remember to make sure the gears match too.

Thanks Jim, yes I have 3.73 L/S in rear and didn't bother with the front because I planned to do this D35. I've found a donor 93 Explorer and plan to buy it whole then scavenge entire drive train. My 7.5 is completely rebuilt along w/ the 2.9 and FM145 trans. But i thought of keeping the 4.0 and 8.8 for the future. The 3.73 is easier to find than 4.10s in the Dallas area, and I'm only running 235/75r-15s.
