Got this 88 a couple of weeks ago. It's our first Bronco II. It's supposed to be my soon to be 16 year old son's first vehicle, but it's also my new toy...
It was amazingly clean inside. I think the interior has been restored at some point. The 2.9 runs like it's new. Manual trans, manual 4wd, manual everything. Ac and heat all work.
Since we've had it, I cleaned up the rear by sanding and painting the skid plate, put in a new exhaust, new spare tire, and we painted the spare tire rim. Also put new rubber window strips on the outside of the doors, and got rid of the little plastic side mirrors. Also the radio display didn't light up, so I changed the tiny little bulb and it's bright now. Really love this truck so far.

Really clean ride! You scored and your boy is hooked up. Keep an eye on the intake bolts and 2 nuts as over time they need a little snug up, I just got a fairly clean 88 with water in the oil and it was an intake gasket failure so I did the whole top end gasket set and it purrs.
