I just bought a 98 Eddie Bauer edition Bronco 2. I had to replace the Valve Cover Gaskets off the bat due to a heavy leak. It "supposedly" has 96,000 miles on it but I suspect it has just rolled over, maybe more than once.

My question is, what else should I look into replacing on this vehicle so that it is going to be running for several years?

I'm assuming an 89? It wouldn't hurt to check all the normal maintenance items. Spark plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, check trans fluid and oil, coolant level and proper mix, brakes and fluid.

Automatic? They seem to be the first thing to go. They definitely benefit from an auxiliary trans cooler added inline.

I agree that replacing the engine oil and other fluids is the first thing you should do.
