Dropped my 88 bronco II 4x4, 5-speed, 2.9 V-6 off at the shop due to an oil leak. I purchased a new oil pan gasket, and a timing gasket set including the front crankshaft seal, timing cover seal and water pump seal. With that being said, the garage charges $75 an hour for labor. They said I am looking at about $525 just for labor, for them to do the front main seal and oil pan gasket. Does that sound right? I thought it sounds a little high. Any advise or opinions would be greatly appritiated because I'm picking up the truck from the shop at noon on tuesday. Thanks.

So 7 hours labor? Seems fine to me.

You do realize they have to pull the engine out to reseal the pan right?

that

if i had the dough, i'd rather pay someone else to do it instead of having to spend a saturday renting an engine hoist, disconnecting everything, lifting the engine up and working on it while it precariously hangs over my head.
