Are the gen1 explorers have the same shackles as the b2. i noticed mine have a rust crack half way threw it. I am swaping the leaves and it would be easier to just use the explorer shackles and not have to go to ford and buy new ones.

Are the explorer one the same??

No. Explorer shackles don't have a bushing in them. They look like a "H". Bronco II and ranger shackles are the same.

Well maybe they wouldn't be cracked if you hadn't thrown them.

Or Beltech drop shackles for a Chevy. Those lift a Ford. I've got some on order to lift the back of my 87 a bit more. I like the "lift" I got with the explorere springs but I want to go higher without blocks. But as is stated above the only shackles that work are from a Ranger. The Ex ones are of a different design and won't fit.

i would just buy the belltechs but don't really want to have to mess with pinion angles(no welder and don't know how) plus i have the p.o.s CV rear shaft.

Are the shackles adjustable to where i could set them at the stock height?

Also what year are the shackles for so i could just buy them at an autozone?

The inch or two of lift you will get out of the Belltech shackles will not change your pinion angle enough to matter. You could shim the leaf springs and fix it if you cared, but I think you should just look at replacement shackles...

This is for my '96 Ranger but it should be the same thing:

I may have a set of BII shackles if you are still in need.

Do you think getting the shackles and putting in the explorer leafs would make a big difference.

Don't want the drive-shaft to fail on me especially since winter is coming.

I just got one of them today and i couldn't one bolt all the way out on the other and have to go back with a hacksaw and a new hammer.
