I am starting this thread to ask question so i don't clog up my build with them and so they get seen by more people (don't know how many people frequent the B2 build section). I am doing a 302 swap in a 1985 bronco II, i am using an M5OD-R2 from a 02 v6 4x4 F150.

1. What clutch line should i use, the one from the F150 or one from a ranger? I would think the one from the F150 might be a bit too long but i am not sure. If i was to use one from a ranger, what year would i want one from to be compatible with the clutch slave on the newer transmission (2002)?

2. I have read numeros posts about needing to us a clutch master cylinder with a bore of 7/8. The only one i can find is a dorman brand for a 1988-1991 ranger. Will this one work on an 85? Also will it work with the slave cylinder from an 02 M5OD-R2?

I would try the F150 line. I don't know if Ford still uses the same fittings.
That master will fit your truck just fine.
If the fittings are still the same, you can use a braided AN line as well, with adapters like this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-640281/

If you have access to a parts truck, I'm sure you could adapt the F150 clutch master.
Your stock master may work fine. We swap to the larger bore master as all the external slave cylinders are 3/4" bore, and a T5 requires quite a throw, and the later 5/8"master just doesn't push enough fluid.

Well looks like i will be making a trip to the junkyard, i will pick up a line from a later ranger and f150.

A few other things right now that i didn't think of. I don't remember what kind of ignition my friend ran on his mustang, i assumed it was a duraspark but i cant remember. Here is a pic of the dizzys plug/wires and the part number. Will this dizzy work with the existing duraspark conversion i did on my B2?

When starting this swap i wanted to go manual, i found an M5OD-R2 from an 02 v6 f150, i also got the transfer case from it as well for cheap. I was looking at it today, and it dawned on me it probably wouldn't have the hole and provisions for a speedo gear. Well the hole is there and there is a sensor, but no gear. So if i do end up running this transfer case, is there after market speedometers that will work with it, or what are my other options?

Thanks

That dizzy is for a carburated car. I have the one for fuel injection if you might just want to trade them.

No thanks. The motor is carbed and is staying so for the time being. Just don't know it is the right one to work with my duraspark box

That vss is a pulse style, not gear driven. It and the output shaft will need to be swapped for an older unit with gear driven parts...

If the tcase fits, will a aftermarket electric speedometer work?

Yeah the part number decodes as 1969 LOL, it might be a reman and they just used the casing of the old one.

It would probably be cheaper to sell the t-case and get one with an output. You could cheat and see if it fits first, 97-98's had the gear driven sensor there.

They only change the engineering code when they change the part.

Mine was plug and play as well. :yahoo:

So if it fits and I was to sell it and buy a new one. Did they change the spline count and mating surface between the 4.2L and the 4.6/5.4L?

You have a 4406, and it will fit, but it would be better for you to find an np 208 or 205. The Tcase splines (31) and Tcase to trans bolt pattern (6 bolt) did not change, however, the trans to block are very different from the v6 to the mod v8's...

OK, I knew the bellhousing were different just wasn't sure about the tcase. I wish there is a way to make it work, I got it for a hell of a deal.

It is an eshift if that matters at all.

It might, the years are pretty vague. I would test fit yours before I ran out and bought another one.

Crap didn't even notice that. Found a guy in Logan, Iowa with a 208. Might look more into that.

If i switch to a 208 can I use the shift linkage from the 4406?

Iirc, all 4406's are pulse signal (electronic), as far as the linkage, it wouldn't be a bolt on linkage, but I'm sure you can modify it to work...

The shift linkage is actually a simple design and a person could easliy make it out of simple stuff. Its a lever hooked to a bolt as a piviot then a long flat piece of steel with a hole at the front and end that then hooks to the lever that hooks to the tcase linkage.

I will say that if I ever get a front driveshaft put in mine and go to use 4wd, the shift lever will hit and be in the way of my leg but nothing some cutting, bending and welding cant fix.
