Howdy guys we have a 1984 Ford Bronco 2 4x4 5speed tranny. Right now we are stock with 235 75 R15 tires but with the suspension sagging they rub a bit in the right position. My buddy has a blown engine 83-80something (same body style and all) with a 4inch lift kit I am guessing. 4inch blocks rear and 4 inch taller coils. I want to buy that off him and put it on our B2 but curious what size I can run. I also have stock good non-sagging suspension I could put on if the size isn't that bad. So my question is what size tires could I run with the suspension I have on now (the one that is sagging) and what size if I put the new springs on?

There have been people around here who run 35s with no lift but that involves a lot of fender trimming. I also wouldn't recommend going up too big in tire size if your not planning to regear. There's also an article in the tech library that might help you bud. Try using the search tool next time you have a question it'll get you the answer your looking for a lot faster.

4" lift (with drop brackets, coils, blocks, etc) you can clear 31's..
I cleared an almost 33" tire but I had to cut the fender a bit IN front of the opening.

would I have to regear with 31s? I know our 2 F150s don't have to be regeared and stock size is 235 75 R15s and we are running 31 10.50 R15s but they are alot bigger trucks.

250s and Rangers are total different ballgame..

IF you have 3.73's or 4.10's you could live with the gears you have now. I had a 4.0 and 3.73's with 32's and it was fine, but the 4.0 is a beast compared to the 2.9...

what gears do you have?

I looked it up and it says 42 axle code is a 3.45 non limited slip. Tomorrow I will check my axle code for my parts B2 and maybe it is a limited slip. I prefer limited slip. Also noticed something. It says stock tires size is 195 75 R15s probably why the 235 75 R15s are rubbing. So there must really not be sag my bad guess I never noticed that. Here is a pic of my axle code maybe you can decipher more. sorry for the spray paint Previous owner spray painted our truck and she didn't know what she was doing.

I have the same axle code on my 84" B2 and it's a 3:45 non limited slip. Or I guess what they call an open diff . I have the factory manuel for 84" B2 and ranger so let me know if you need anything decoded?
