Bronco II Power windows not working

An '89 BII doesn't have a power window relay, at least not from the factory. Check for a break in the wires, like a previous poster suggested. It's most likely that causing your problem, followed by a bad ground, or bad switches. It's a reversal-rest-at-ground circuit; a good old test light...

    Passenger window

Be careful jumpering power to wires. Power window wires (like door lock wires) are grounded (they "rest at ground") except when a switch is moved. Jumpering power into one of these grounded circuits usually burns up the contacts in the switch. The right way to test a motor is to unplug the...

Cleaning Up - Too Cheap for Duraspark

Honestly and sincerely, I agree. It's not just the "emissions crap", it's the whole engine management arrangement. I put off Durasparking my '84 for a long time, wanting to keep it stock. But man I'm glad I did it; it's the best thing you can possibly do for the 2.8. The factory system...

    HELP! Weird oil pressure issue

Are you going by the stock gauge in the dash? If so, there's the chance that you have an electrical issue instead. Before deciding on junking or repair, it'd be worth the trouble to put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it to get true reading straight from the motor.

New BII owner and forum member

Nice truck! I tried keeping my '84 Ranger 2.8 stock as long as I could stand it, but the Duraspark conversion is definitely the way to go. Good call on the valve cover gaskets and valve seals; it'd also be a great time to adjust the valves, if needed. Good luck with the new BII; I hope that...

    Duraspark conversion completed

Congratulations! Glad to hear that it went well.

    Broken flywheel

Yep; same thing twice on my '90 B2. Second time around I used Loktite on the tranny bolts AND added lock washers. Seems to be a fairly common problem on the 2.9 with the A4LD.

    Duraspark parts needed, carb questions???

Sounds like you're on the right track with everything. Good luck, and be sure to let us know how it turns out.

    Duraspark parts needed, carb questions???

I don't know about any "pearls of wisdom" (as my oysters are ALWAYS empty), but I will give you some advice, and then tell you a little about how I did mine. First, the advice. Pull together all of the information that you possibly can before you start the conversion job. You do seem to be...

    Duraspark parts needed, carb questions???

I Durasparked mine a few months ago, and here's what I found for the adapter. Check with AutoZone, for a Duralast P/N F960. It can be looked up in their computer system under a 1981 F150 4.9L (300cu) 2WD. It fit perfectly, and I paid $4.99 for mine. Good luck on your conversion; it is a...

    OE BI Paint Schemes

Lotta nice looking B2s; cool thread. Here's the available factory striping options for all year Bronco II's, from an aftermarket collision estimating guide (but note that the Ford part numbers are listed). Notice that option #5, is the XLS striping that's often seen with ground effect...

Anyone have experience with "Dash Covers?"

Thanks, ya'll. I've been wondering about those LMC dash covers, as I have to redo my '84's interior. But, if anybody does makes a repro replacement dash pad (not cover), it'd be nice to know.

That is really a nice looking truck! It certainly shows a lot of hard work, well done.

    anyone done something dumb before?

Dude, everybody does something like that, sooner or later. I've sure done my share of dumbsh!t moves. It's OK; you learn something from it; then, it's best to laugh about it, and then you move on. Good score on the speakers.

    1988 BII door swap

Shouldn't be any problems at all. A good set of manual doors will bolt right on, and also solve the interior trim panel difference. Most people want to do it the other way- manual to power. Your old doors may be worth something to somebody, as a worn-out set with power windows/locks, in need...

    Motorcraft 2150 Carb Body Plumbing

The Duraspark conversion is definitely the way to go. With careful shopping you can do it very reasonably, too. I did mine a few weeks ago, and spent in total around $150, which included the distributor, adapter, cap, wires, plugs, coil, resistor, new valve stem seals, and valve cover gaskets...

    Motorcraft 2150 Carb Body Plumbing

Go to this post, read it, and follow the link that's in the post. http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=981&highlight=martin%27s+metering+block I recently Durasparked my '84 2.8L, kept the 2150A, and made one of these metering blocks for it. My truck is running better than...
