im contemplating on putting some blue probe gt seats in my b2(since the rest of it is blue) and putting in a new carpet set. whats the best replacement carpet out there(besides ford?) is there any that alread have cut outs? i know most people set their old carpet over it. one problem. i didnt have factory carpet, i put some house carpet in it, and it all got butchered up when i did the 5spd swap. i know the new boot will cover some of it but im a perfectionist and it will piss me off

Consider something like this. My rig had this when I bought it. Someone took a rubber mat and cut a hole in it and put it around the shifter. My carpet is all cut up too from changing floorplates and stuff.

It just sits there. Having the correct boots, floorplate and bezel combo for your specific tranny makes a big difference too, Ford used at least 3. At the time of that picture it was just some cobbled together stuff.

Hahnsb2 that idea while being low tech is a great little bit of advice. I too have a hole to cover up after a swap and was contemplating on what to do. Great advice man.

I got a carpet kit for my old B2 from this place. Good prices. BUT they don't have holes cut in the carpet... really nobody who sells NEW carpet will have holes pre-cut. It's not hard to cut the holes from scratch, just takes LONG time. Best way to do it is to remove everything that's attached to the floor of the truck, including the shifters, then trim the edges, secure them down, and then cut holes for the shifters and bolts for the seats and seat belts.
