Ok so I sourced a free starter for the 5R so I will be swapping the pump and bellhousing over. I like when things work out without costing anything.

Check and make sure the transfer case is in gear, it might be in neutral, I have seen it happen.

D, do you have a line pressure tester? If not, you may have to borrow one to make sure the pump is putting pressure. Did you put new seals in with the pump?

No not the starter, the pump. I have the lines diconnected and nothing is coming out.

But I think I figured it out last night. I realized I didnt get the flexplate spacer from Jon. Forgot that the auto used one when I installed it.

Look at it this way, you've upgraded to the 5R bellhousing and starter :icon_thumby:

Well it wasn't that. The spacer was installed. Guess it was just stuck to the flexplate when i put it on. But that means I have 2 bad pumps.

did you take the first one apart and see if it was broke??? if it is, take the second one apart, and if it isn't broke, put those two gears in the first one and see of that works, just make sure they are the same size and all.

the newer bell housing might have different ports or something.

Yeah the pump, and fluid pathways are different between the 2. Taking off a pump and inspecting is my next step, but i am also fighting the motor in the Focus. Having 2 things that need my attention sucks. And that doesn't include the fiance!
