Thanks. Now I need to borrow an engine hoist. The braces in the garage aren't as strong as I thought, so I can't use my chain hoist. Anyone have one to spare?

Run some 4x4's along the ceiling of the garage supported by more 4x4's along the walls to give it strength, and you can use that :icon_thumby:

For the price and trouble of that, I'd rather buy my own hoist.

the craftsman is older and doesn't fold up.. its always in the way or you have to take it apart.. but the new craftsmans are like $500

Mine is from a local wholesale company, but is just like the HF one...its a real good valuable tool, one of the best investments to make :icon_thumby:

Until ya thrash the steel wheels on it, then go to rural king and install some new ones!
But don't worry Dustin, Rick's probably had his for many moons and who knows how many uses and who knows what he's tried or did pick up with it!!! :dunno:
Yours probably last forever with the wheels on it! :icon_thumby:

That's a hard one...Let's see, I've had it for about 5 years give or take, lifted, pulled and held at least 3 dozen motors including GM's 6.2 diesel (don't ask), several 7.3L IDI and DI engines, 460's, 302's, 351W's, trannies, frames, axles, a 500 gallon air tank, help move a 4K lathe...I'm sure I'm missing some other uses for it, but it still looks great, no problems other than the casters bent a little( the reason for replacing), but I'm sure I overloaded it at one point....

Swung by Autozone and picked up a clutch, plugs, wires, oil, oil filter, air filter, and a new belt.

Then came home and ordered the rest on Rockauto: T-stat, slave cylinder, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, and a flywheel

Grand total of about $410. Today was an expensive day.

Items on the list that wont make it before the swap: water pump, oil pump, fuel filter, O2 sensor, tensioner, and idler.

Oh and btw I love my new garage. I think I could pull both vehicles straight in and still close the door. Look at the space between my Focus and the wall. (I know its still a mess. Havent finished unpacking/organizing everything yet)
