door sticker decoding

Im in need of front hubs and axle joints but cant seem to find a solid answer on what front end I have. Ford dealer said d35 but I cant seem to find d35 parts for my b2. My door sticker is there but where in the world do I go to decode it and I belive 3.73 axle ratio. Build date 01/90

1990 should have a D35

Count the 3rd member bolts. Dana 28 has 12 bolts, dana 35 only has 10. That will be conclusive and tell you what you really have. The door tag can be wrong for a lot of reasons.

Heck, I'll give you $100 if you can go buy one correct part for my truck using only the information available on the door tag (yes, my tag is original, it matches the VIN plate on the cab, and I've had it long enough to know it's the original cab).

Thank you much for the advice. My automatic hubs burnt out and want to go with manual hubs but could never figure out what i have. Could i run 4:10's in my axle's? This winter its getting 33's and i don't think my little 2.9 with 3:73(according to the dealer) would like that very much.

I recommend 4.88:1 gears if you want to run 33s (though this would require you swap your rear 7.5" out for a 8.8"). 4.56:1 is next closest that can be fitted to both the 7.5" and D35 however.
