OK, so I have recently purchased a 4.0 and an engine wiring harness out of a 94 Explorer.

I know the body harness for the Explorer is slightly different and has to be re-pinned to work. Since I'm already cutting into the Explorer harness to keep my Gen 1 dash, I'm not worried about it. What I'm not sure of is the exact differences. I just need to the circuits that aren't right. Even if I just get the ones that keep it from running, I can sort the rest out from there.

The engine needs a bit of work so it won't go in until next year. Re-pinning is going to be my winter project.

Shadow. Yours should be plug and play, adsm's is a lil more complicated. Unoleisu had a thread going on this a while back with a similar swap

Country0001, I was starting to think that, but everything I've read says only if I'm using a ranger wiring harness, I did try my head lights and tail lights and everything is working so far,

I'm using a ranger harness too. I did the headlights and the taillights too.But the Gen 1's dashes are different than the Gen 2's. The ranger harness will plug right into a 90 B2. They are very similar. I used a gen3 ranger harness into a gen 2 B2 because they have the same dash. Thats where he'll have an issue with the wiring.
