I like the factory V8, wider body/bigger cab, more choices of transfercases, ect. I'll definitely start a thread when I start, don't even know what Dak I'm going to use yet and I'm down to 3 days a week at work right now so money has become tighter. Will be wheeling my B2 in the meantime, got a trip planned for thanksgiving weekend, hopefully in the snow :headbang:

Can't argue with that, I had a 98 ext cab Dakota for a short period of time. The extra room in the cab and under the hood as compared to a Ranger is very nice.

Hell, even Jeeps are original these days now that everyone has Toyotas. At Browns Camp a couple weeks ago I only saw 1 jeep all day, about 10 Toyotas, 2 Samurais, mine and Woody's B2 and Kenny's S10.

The 'tons are going into a Dakota... B2 is likely going to be sold whole.
weak, completely faked everyone out with that pic haha. so you are going to sas that teal dakota you turboed? or another one that you got? if it were me i'd get a 2wd dakota with the cash from the b2 :sad: and put the turbo motor into that and put the teal one on tons. its too bad your selling that b2 right now, i'd be interested in it if I had the cash you'd probably want for it. Ever since my 89 b2 was wrecked back in high school, i've been trying to find another one to replace it, and that explorer I bought off you hasn't really been cutting it.

Ideally I'd like to get a 2wd and put all the go fast goodies on it and then build my current truck, but I'll take whatever I can get a deal on, either way it has to be a V8 5 speed.

B2 has been getting a lot of snow action this year. It's been running great, only problem was a leaking heatercore.
Here's a short video messing around on a snow covered gravel pile.

Well the B2 is back to DD duty for a while while the Dakota is down (transfercase going Chernobyl). I better change the oil tomorrow. It's the same oil that's been in her since I put the 4.0 over 2 years and 7500 miles ago. I still check the dipstick every time I take her out and it hasn't used or leaked a drop in all that time! Not bad for a motor with over 190k!

Well I still want to build a Dakota and plan to not make the B2 any bigger, it's great they way it is for all the tight stuff. The Dakota would be great for things like Can Opener, Crushers, Waterfall, 7-up and stuff like that at TSF. It would also make a good Moab rig.

Time for a new front bumper as well. Managed to bend mine up a little by using a tree to steer last Saturday. Definitely going to incorporate a some kind of stinger and headlight guards.

Generally it's a good idea to check your wheel bearings after you go driving in deep water..

Wasn't really any bearing cage left to speak of. Inner race welded itself to the spindle. Changed it at WoodyB2's house since there's no way it would have made it home. I had to jack one of his spindles from his new geared and locked D35. I changed the other one today and it wasn't bad but was starting to rust a little.

I was suprised how bad my bearings were when I put my lift on here recently... I had only wheeled 5 or so times before the lift since getting my b2 going, and one of the bearings was completely screwed, guess I didnt pack enough grease in or something when I put them together...

I agree, check your bearings often...

So I'm thinking about a SOHC swap and running it on Megasquirt to get around all the OBD2 bullshit...

Dead thread revival!

Here is what you said about my rig while I was in tech school over 3 years ago and I couldn't drive it;

It's kinda sad, it just sits for several months at a time now :sad:

Haha tables have turned get your shit together man!
