And it's also the cheapest route to get more power.

Ill have to keep the 4.0 swap in mind. Now I have a ton of questions so it looks like I've got some reading up to do . Ill get some more pics up and try for larger ones. Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes. 4.0 swap. OR, you could regear your axles, but that'll be more costly than a 4.0 swap.

BII looks good! :icon_thumby:

What do I need to put a 4.0 in? The motor and what else?

Just the engine with its components and the harness, but I would recommend using the 4.0's radiator and M5OD tranny if you don't have one already.

With you having a 1st gen, swapping the harness will be more involved, but many many users on this forum have done it, and we have tons of threads and info in the tech library on the swap.

I've got a brand new Mazda tranny in it now. Will that work?

High gears will make a 4.0 a dog too.

I see its an 85, you could always duraspark it to get some more power out of the 2.8.

It should already have a tube that runs from the front of the truck to the aircleaner, the air can't get any colder than that. Might even call it a little bit of a ram air setup too.
