Hello guys! New to the forum here. Just bought me a Ford Bronco II for $500.
Looking to start my off-roading hobby again.

Shes not much to look at right now.

Came with a blown head gasket, hoping to get it up and running real soon.

Nice truck. Better have the heads checked. It's a 2.9 thing, and I'd bet money that at least one is bad. In fact, you should probably just let me come on down there and take that off your hands... ; p

Reading my mind...I was going to say the same thing. Either way, a 500 dollar bronco with 300-500 dollar heads is worth it in my book. It looks nice and clean.

Well I got the head gaskets replaced had the heads looked at. said they are fine. This is were it went down hill. Still runs rough can't keep it running. Blowing oil out of the dipstick. lot of smoke coming out of PVC valve on valve cover. Did a compression test on it cylinder 1 has 110psi the rest have 50-60psi. Guessing the rings are bad. So I'm done probably going to part the truck out or scrap it. Complete waste of money.

So you're going to take apart/destroy a perfectly good 4x4 truck (that has the D35 frontend under it, mind you) just because the engine is bad??

I'd be dropping a 4.0L in that thing in a heartbeat! '89 & '90 BIIs are the easiest ones to do so on, they literally bolt right in and plug & play using a 4.0L from a '90-'92 Ranger... :icon_confused:

- this pic and the bottom are the same BII - gentleman welded his own bumpers and this great rack up top - he says he sleeps in it when he goes camping and he was @ 6'1...bolted and welded it right on top.

- this gent, Gerald, took a BII and chopped it up, threw some 16 inch rims on there and had a ranger tailgate on it - used coil-over shocks which gave it about a 2 inch lift - he actually did a really good job on it.

- so gonna make this rack for mine and weld/bolt it on!

Not mine but I saw them and had to talk to them - awesome on both of them!

I guess i'll post a few pics of my daughters B2. We started off with a stock 87 B2 that needed an engine so we picked it up for $650. Bought a donor b2 for another 500 cleaned up that engine and in it went, running great now. Installed 3 inch body lift and 2 inch suspension pucks. 33x12.5-15 on 15x8 with 3.75 bs came next and this is what we ended up with. Its her first high school vehicle so it had to be cool.

Well of course! I already have a d35 but its in a different 1990 b2 that i bought for a donor but is too nice to chop up. Ill start looking for an explorer donor, but first i have to live down that my daughters B2 is taller than my jeep
