1987 Ford Bronco II Weekend Toy

David Rouse from Seattle, Washington had an Audi Allroad and a Toyota FJ Cruiser before deciding to turn this 1987 Ford Bronco II 4×4 into his weekend toy.

The Bronco II received a 2-inch lift and 31×10.5×15 Federal MS 351 All Terrain tires. The 15×8 chrome wheels had quite a bit of surface rust on them, so they were cleaned up and painted black. The trim and grill were painted black as well, and the old rectangular headlights were replaced with round LED headlights to not only put out more light, but to also give it more of a retro first-generation Ford Bronco look. A unique feature that I haven’t seen before is the LED side marker lights in the front fenders.

David made a custom Safari rack using UniStrut and modified Yakima 1A towers and mounted it on the roof. The custom rack is home to a Smittybilt roof top tent and a set of Traction Boards.

The interior received an aftermarket stereo and the dash bezel was covered in black vinyl.

All in all, it’s a pretty cool and budget friendly weekend toy to go play in.

Welcome to the Bronco Corral. As a long time Ford Truck enthusiast, I've been a fan of the Ford Bronco and Bronco II. In fact, I've completely rebuilt a Bronco II of my own. The Bronco Corral originally started as the Bronco II Corral, but in 2020 I decided to expand it to include all Ford Bronco's, and welcome the upcoming 2021 Ford Bronco. Thanks for stopping.
